General Sales Manager

Lockwood Broadcast Group is seeking General Sales Manager candidates for sales oversight for its Fox station, WFXG. WFXG is in beautiful Augusta, GA which is located on the banks of the Savannah River.  Augusta offers many options for recreation, and culinary and cultural experiences and is the home of the Master’s golf tournament.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of driving growth opportunities and must possess a strong background managing inventory and price controls, sales training, and development, and selling local news, sports, and digital products. 

Duties include but are not limited to: 

• Create and monitor strategy for sales department
• Grow and monitor progress of advertising accounts with sales team
• Motivate and mentor sales staff
• Accompany sales staff on sales calls and assist with presentations
• Strong recruiter and culture-builder
• Be a Sponsorship-Creator and a Sports Maven

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business management or equivalent training and/or experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in media/advertising sales
• Proven track record of developing and leading sales teams at television stations
• Successful experience driving revenue growth for both on-air and digital products
• Proficient in all MS Office programs
• Wide Orbit proficiency is a plus
