News Channel Nebraska is a community-focused television station dedicated to providing local news and information to the residents of the Great State of Nebraska.&nbsp; We are seeking a talented and dedicated Anchor/Reporter to join our team and help us deliver quality news coverage to our viewers.&nbsp; As an Anchor/Reporter, you will be an integral part of our news team, responsible for reporting on local events, producing news stories, and presenting news broadcasts. You will play a vital role in keeping our community informed about important issues and events that impact their lives.
The News Reporter must possess strong motivation, a passion for news, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced culture where creativity thrives. The successful candidate must have solid journalistic judgment, a news philosophy that emphasizes accuracy, and a willingness to travel outside the confines of a newsroom in the effort to generate content.&nbsp;
You will write, report, produce, anchor and work for a multi-platform news station.&nbsp;
Responsibilities:

<li>News Reporting: Research, investigate, and report on local news stories, events, and developments that affect our community.</li>
<li>On-Air Presentations: Anchor news broadcasts with professionalism and authority, delivering news stories to our viewers with clarity and credibility.</li>
<li>Field Reporting: Conduct interviews, gather information, and capture video footage in the field, covering a wide range of topics including local news, community events, and human-interest stories.</li>
<li>Story Writing: Write, edit, and produce news stories for broadcast, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to journalistic standards.</li>
<li>Interviews: Conduct interviews with community members, local officials, and experts to provide diverse perspectives on news stories.</li>
<li>Live Reporting: Cover breaking news and live events, both in the studio and on location, as needed.</li>
<li>Community Engagement: Build relationships within the community, attend local events, and actively engage with viewers to understand their concerns and interests.</li>
<li>Social Media: Promote news stories and engage with the audience on social media platforms to enhance the reach and impact of our news coverage.</li>
<li>Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the news team, including producers, photographers, and editors, to create high-quality news content.</li>
<li>Adherence to Ethical Standards: Ensure all reporting and broadcasting adhere to ethical and legal standards, including accuracy, fairness, and copyright regulations.</li>
<li>If interested, contribute to live coverage of college/high school sports on radio and TV.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Degree in Broadcast Journalism preferred with experience in television.</li>
<li>Solid journalistic judgment and a news philosophy that emphasizes accurate, fair, and unique local content, along with community engagement.</li>
<li>Understanding of social media and digital platforms.</li>
<li>Strong ethical standards and integrity are a must.</li>
<li>Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed</li>
<li>Exceptional organizational skills suited for a fast-paced environment.</li>
