Metro Detroit school districts are hiring compassionate, dependable Paraprofessionals to support teachers and help students succeed in the classroom. If you enjoy working with children, providing individualized assistance, and contributing to a positive learning environment, this role offers meaningful work and steady employment.

Paraprofessionals play a vital role by supporting instruction, assisting with classroom management, and helping students with academic, behavioral, and developmental needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with daily classroom activities and instructional support
• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students needing additional help
• Support students with special needs or IEP goals, when applicable
• Help maintain a structured, positive, and safe learning environment
• Prepare learning materials, organize supplies, and assist with student supervision
• Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and school administrators

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Some districts require 60+ college credits or passage of a paraprofessional assessment (varies by employer)
• Experience working with children in schools, childcare, or youth programs is preferred
• Patient, empathetic, and committed to student growth
• Ability to follow teacher direction and work collaboratively with staff
