Position Type: Part-time, adjunct
Semester: Spring 2026 (January 2026-May 2026)
Compensation: $825 - $975 per credit, based on adjunct faculty rank (determined by education and experience)
Position Overview:
NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach one or more Education and Teacher Education Conversion Program (TECP) courses.
Course Details:
Sample courses for spring are below:
- EDU 208: Content Literacy -- Focuses on methods for integrating explicit instruction of effective reading comprehension strategies into content area teaching. Before, during, and after reading strategies that will help students to comprehend challenging content area reading material will be introduced and practiced. Mentor texts will be used to demonstrate text structure and make the connection between reading and writing in the content areas. Students will learn strategies for motivating and engaging students with reading, modeling effective reading and writing strategies, guiding comprehension, facilitating metacognitive discussions, and teaching vocabulary and study skills. Methods for assessing and developing skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking will be explored. Methods for differentiating and accommodating for struggling readers and writers including the use of assistive technology will also be explored. (and comparable TECP 67C)
- EDU 210C: Cross-Cultural Education Seminar -- Offers candidates a professional forum for researching, reviewing, and discussing socio-cultural contexts and topics in language teaching and education. In the course candidates will develop a broad-based understanding of cross-cultural education and discover appropriate practices and techniques for the multi-cultural classroom. The course is a requirement for all Education candidates. (and comparable TECP 69C)
Program Description:
NHTI's Education degree program allows students to gain a broad-based teacher education preparation with hands-on practical experiences in the field. NHTI's Teacher Education Conversion Program is for students who already hold a bachelor’s degree and want a license to teach mathematics, science, special education, or English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach the assigned course using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.
- Facilitate class discussions, assignments, and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.
- Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
- Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in education or related field.
- Experience: Previous teaching experience and experience with learning management systems.
- Residency: Must reside in NH, VT, ME, MA, CT, or RI.
