Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in a dynamic school environment. The role is based in Stamford, CT, and may involve travel to various school sites to provide specialized instructional services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver inclusive learning experiences.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve educational goals.
- Provide direct instruction and support in both classroom and resource settings.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student development and progress.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with special education best practices.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with disabilities in a K-12 setting.
- Knowledge of federal and state special education regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs.
- Willingness and ability to travel between school locations as required.
