Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support students across grades K-12 in a long-term contract through the end of the school year. The position is based in Long Beach, CA, serving diverse classrooms including Self-Contained, Resource, and Special Day Classrooms. This role provides meaningful impact by delivering specialized instruction tailored to students with unique learning needs in grades K5, 68, and 912.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet state and school requirements
- Deliver instruction and adaptations appropriate for students with varying abilities within self-contained and resource classrooms
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support student academic, social, and emotional growth
- Maintain detailed progress records and communicate regularly with parents and staff
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications:
- Active State Teaching License in Special Education is required
- Experience working with K-12 students in special education settings preferred
- Strong classroom management and differentiated instructional skills
- Ability to work flexible hours within a typical 5-day school week, 30-37.5 hours per week
