Position Overview:

The Paraprofessional provides direct support to teachers and students in the classroom to promote academic, behavioral, and social success to students and students with disabilities. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, dependable, and enjoys working closely with children. The Paraprofessional assists with classroom instruction, small-group or one-on-one support, and helps maintain a positive, structured learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom instruction under the direction of the teacher.

  • Provide 1:1 support for a student with learning and attention challenges, focusing on redirection and positive reinforcement.

  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts.

  • Assist students with assignments, transitions, and organization.

  • Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, hallways, and lunch/recess areas.

  • Support behavior management and help maintain a calm, productive classroom environment.

  • Communicate positively and professionally with students, staff, and families.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 60 credit hours.

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.

  • Reliable, patient, and committed to supporting student growth.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:
Paraprofessionals work primarily in classroom and small-group settings under the direction of a certified teacher. The role involves active engagement with students and flexibility throughout the school day.
