Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher at an elementary school, located in Gurnee, IL. This full-time, onsite position involves working with a self-contained, cross-categorical classroom of 10-12 students throughout the school year on a contract basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to support diverse learners
  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students unique needs within a self-contained classroom setting
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to foster student growth
  • Monitor and document student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and development

Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Experience instructing elementary-aged students in a self-contained, cross-categorical classroom
  • Ability to manage a caseload of 10-12 students with varied learning needs
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with educators, families, and support teams
