Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-semester contract position is seeking a Special Education Teacher specializing in Preschool and Early Childhood Education (ECE) to support a newly created role in a well-established elementary school setting in Issaquah, WA. The position is onsite and ideal for educators with a passion for special education and experience working with young learners in preschool or early elementary grades (K-2).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and services focused on preschool and early childhood special education students.
- Collaborate with staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Participate in weekly planning, IEP meetings, and training sessions during non-student contact days.
- Maintain clear documentation and communication regarding student progress.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learner needs in a supportive classroom environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current valid Washington State teaching license in Special Education required.
- Preference for candidates with preschool/ECE experience; K-2 elementary teaching experience will also be considered.
- Strong understanding of special education laws and IEP development.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Position Details:
- Location: Issaquah, WA (on-site)
- Schedule: 22.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with Wednesdays designated for planning and meetings.
- Duration: Immediate start through June 17, 2026
