Overview:

The Technical Writer will be responsible for writing clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation for technical and non-technical audiences. This role involves collaborating with engineers and subject matter experts to transform complex information into accessible content. The ideal candidate will have strong technical writing skills, analytical thinking, and experience with documentation tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to document new features during development cycles.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of engineering source data, including drawings, schematics, and specifications, to design and develop technical publications that meet varying complex levels.
  • Lead or contribute to the development of moderate-to-complex publication projects by leveraging analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure data accuracy and usability for the end-user.
  • Collaborate with internal and external company SMEs, or platform specialists, to gather, interpret, and validate technical information.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation standards, including policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality, cost-efficiency, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and analyze engineering drawings, schematics, software specifications, hardware interface specifications, and equipment specifications to develop precise and actionable documentation.
  • Prepare publication outlines, project estimates, and schedules to support product development and planning.
  • Enhance user comprehension by incorporating diagrams, illustrations, graphs, and photographs into technical content, ensuring complex processes are visually clear and easy to follow.
  • Any additional duties assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience:

Any combination of education and/or experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:

  • No prior professional experience required – training provided
  • Direct industry experience in secondary machinery a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Technical Communication, Engineering, or another related field, a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and interface effectively with stakeholders
