Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 charter school in Chicago is seeking Special Education teachers to provide dedicated support for diverse learners during the 2025-2026 school year. These contract positions focus on delivering both push-in and pull-out instruction primarily in reading fluency and comprehension as well as foundational math skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support an average caseload of 20 students across grades K-8, emphasizing individualized instruction tailored to students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Developmental Delays (DD)
- Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications within the classroom setting
- Utilize data-driven strategies to enhance student progress in reading and math
- Maintain organized records of student performance and communicate regularly with families and staff
Qualifications:
- Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
- Experience working with K-12 students in special education settings
- Ability to manage a caseload including push-in and pull-out services focused on literacy and math
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Locations:
- K-4 program located on the south side of Chicago
- 5-8 program serving middle-grade students in Chicago
