Overview:
The Admission Ambassador Program assists the Office of Admission with prospective student events and activities. Ambassadors act as a positive representative of the student population at Oakton and are hired as student employees. The program is highly selective and will admit Oakton students who have shown aa commitment to their academics, as well as involvement in student life. Ambassadors participate in college fairs, campus events, campus tours, and will assist with administrative duties in the office.

Hours Available:
Monday- Friday: 9:00 am- 1:00 pm or 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm (flexible with class schedule)
Schedule Flexibility:
Student schedule will fluctuate based on what assignments are accepted/refused. Once accepted, students are expected to follow through with their determined schedule with minimal adjustments.
Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities and Learning Outcomes :
- Assist and respond to prospective students inquiries via phone, online chat, and in-person (CT, CM)
- Use Oakton information systems to identify answers to student questions (CT, TC, CD)
- Lead small and large scale campus tours (CM, LD, CD)
- Aid admission staff with day-to-day projects, such as preparing and mailing brochures and packets to prospective students (TW, CD)
- Present and serve on panels during on-campus day and occasional evening events (PF, LD, CM, CD)
- Maintain storage closet and office cubbies (TW)

Candidate Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Other abilities):
- Must be enrolled at Oakton College in at least 6 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters. Employment over the summer is allowed for students taking at least 1 credit class during the summer, or students continuing registration into the following fall semester.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Must have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher and be in good standing at Oakton College.
- Able to stand and sit for extended periods of time and carry boxes up to 25 lbs.
- Demonstrated reliability and responsibility.
- Friendly, flexible, organized, courteous, and punctuality a must.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills with strong detail orientation preferred.
- Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office and Google technology (GSUITE) preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Some evening hours.
-Previous leadership and student life experience preferred.
