Job Summary:

The School Based Social Worker provides direct and indirect social work services to students experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioral problems that interfere with their performance in school, and facilitates communication among school, home and community providers.

Education: Masters degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited institution.

Experience:

• Experience using Crisis Intervention strategies and methodology
• Two years’ experience in a K-12 school setting

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:

• Valid and current Florida license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Florida Educator Certificate in School Social Work or Registered Intern

Primary Job Functions:

• Ability to provide expertise for supporting the academic, social-emotional, physical, and behavioral development of all students
• Knowledge of social work theories and topics used in daily practice
• Conduct workshops and provide training to parents, teachers, and children
• Operating knowledge of computer programs, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and web-based technologies and platforms
• Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in written and oral form, including electronic media, using positive interpersonal skills
• Ability to organize, prioritize, manage, and carry out duties efficiently and within established timeframes.
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders

Periodic Job Functions:

• Attend professional training.
• Complete trainings as required by agency
