Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A dedicated elementary school counselor opportunity is available supporting kindergarten through 2nd grade students in an engaging and supportive learning environment. This contract position runs through the current school year, providing consistent, onsite counseling services Monday through Friday with full-time hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide social, emotional, and academic counseling to elementary students (K-2) to support their overall development and well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to identify and address student needs.
  • Implement individual and group counseling sessions tailored to young learners.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives promoting positive behavior and mental health awareness.
  • Maintain confidential records and documentation in compliance with school policies.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Proven experience as a school counselor, preferably at the elementary level.
  • Strong understanding of developmental stages and counseling approaches suitable for K-2 students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with young children, families, and school staff.
  • Ability to develop trusting relationships and a supportive atmosphere for students.
  • Valid counseling credentials or certifications as required.

Location & Schedule:

  • This role is onsite at an elementary school in Irving, TX.
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week with ideal shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
