Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Located near Elmwood Park, IL, this full-time contract opportunity is ideal for experienced Special Education Teachers ready to make an impact in an elementary school setting. The assignment involves working with K-5th grade students, focusing on four co-teaching sections and one instructional section. This role is designed for educators passionate about supporting students with disabilities through collaboration and tailored instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction alongside general education teachers in co-teaching settings
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that meet students unique learning needs
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Collaborate with school psychologists, social workers, and other educational professionals
  • Maintain compliance with state regulations and school policies related to special education

Qualifications:

  • Current Illinois Professional Educator License required; LBS1 preferred (Type 73 School Psychologist or School Social Worker also considered)
  • Minimum of three years experience teaching students with disabilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in creating and executing individualized education plans
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills essential to support collaborative classroom environments
