Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An immediate opening is available for a Special Education Teacher to work in a center-based classroom setting serving students in grades K-3. This position is located in a welcoming elementary school within the northern Denver suburbs of Aurora, CO. The classroom supports a caseload of five students with moderate to severe needs, providing a rewarding opportunity to make a significant difference in young learners' educational journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students with moderate to severe special education needs.
  • Collaborate closely with two dedicated paraprofessionals to ensure optimal support and classroom management.
  • Develop and implement IEPs in accordance with state guidelines and school policies.
  • Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with families and school staff.
  • Participate in professional development and team meetings to enhance instructional strategies and student outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education Teaching License (required).
  • Experience working in special education, specifically with moderate to severe disabilities in early elementary grades.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals and other educators.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Position Details:

  • Location: Elementary school in Aurora, Colorado.
  • Duration: Contract through the current school year, concluding May 29, 2026.
  • Start Date: ASAP.
