Your Role as a Special Education Coordinator
- Develop & Implement Individualized Programs: Design and adapt educational programs that meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities while aligning with the school’s philosophy and special education best practices.
- Ensure Compliance & Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate IEP documentation, facilitate meetings with families, and ensure full compliance with federal, state, and private school regulations.
- Collaborate & Support Instruction: Partner with teachers, therapists, and service providers to align lesson plans with IEP goals, provide accommodations and modifications, and foster inclusive learning environments.
- Lead Training & Resource Management: Provide staff training on differentiation and inclusive practices while managing special education resources, budgets, and external service coordination to best support student success.
- Promote Safety, Ethics & Confidentiality: Follow all safety protocols, utilize crisis intervention techniques appropriately, adhere to company policies, and maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and organizational standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Active PA Teaching Certification is required - Level I/II PA Instructional Special Education Certification (K–12).
- Bachelor's degree in education, Master's preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred (Nice to Have) Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years special education teaching experience
- Previous experience implementing behavior management programs and curriculum development
