Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A temporary Special Education Teacher position is available in an onsite elementary school setting in Lakeville, MN. This leave replacement contract runs from January 5 to March 6, 2026, offering a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. The role focuses on a site-based program supporting students with developmental cognitive disabilities using a team approach alongside two other special education teachers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and behavioral support to a caseload of 6 to 8 elementary students with diverse disabilities, including behavioral and cross-categorical needs.
- Collaborate with educational team members to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet individual learning goals.
- Maintain compliance with all educational and special education regulations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Teaching Credential in Special Education with at least one of the following endorsements:
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Developmental Disabilities
- Early Childhood Special Education
- Emotional Behavioral Disorders
- Learning Disabilities
- Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (optional but beneficial)
- Experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities preferred.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small specialized team in a site-based program.
- Strong communication skills and dedication to individualized student support.
