Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This position offers an opportunity to provide specialized educational services in a site-based elementary school program focused on diverse special education needs. Serving a caseload of six to eight students, the role involves working collaboratively within a team of two other special education teachers to support students with developmental cognitive disabilities (DCD), speech impairments (SP), or mild/moderate (MM) disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction and behavioral support to students with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, learning disabilities, or related special education needs.
  • Implement and adapt academic and behavioral strategies tailored to student needs within a cross-categorical framework.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow site-based educators and school staff to promote student development and success.
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings to discuss student progress and plan interventions.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota teaching credential in Special Education with one or more endorsements such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, Early Childhood, Emotional Behavioral Disorders, or Learning Disabilities.
  • Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (ABS) is optional but advantageous for serving students across multiple disability categories.
  • Experience working in elementary educational settings, preferably within special education.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to engage with staff, students, and families effectively.

Location and Duration:

  • Onsite position in an elementary school located in Burnsville, MN.
  • Contract engagement from January 5 to March 6, 2026.
  • Full-time schedule approximately 37.5 hours per week.
