Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate, dynamic, and culturally competent **Financial Literacy Instructor** to join our team at Maynard Leadership Academy. This role involves delivering an engaging financial education curriculum and an evidence-based program designed to empower young people with real-world money management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver structured and interactive financial literacy sessions aligned with PBEST certification standards.
- Develop and maintain a supportive, respectful, and trauma-informed classroom environment.
- Customize lessons to meet diverse learning styles and educational levels of incarcerated youth.
- Collaborate with facility staff, caseworkers, and the Maynard Leadership Academy team to coordinate program logistics and track student progress.
- Administer assessments and support students through CBEST certification requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and student outcomes.
- Provide mentorship and encouragement, modeling positive social and economic decision-making.
- Participate in professional development and staff meetings as required.

Qualifications:

Required:
- Demonstrated experience teaching, mentoring, or facilitating youth programs preferably in justice-involved or at-risk populations.
- Strong foundation in financial literacy concepts (budgeting, saving, credit, employment, entrepreneurship, etc.).
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to a correctional or institutional setting.
- Passion for youth empowerment and belief in second chances.

- CBEST Certified

Preferred:
- Experience teaching in juvenile detention or alternative education environments.
- Background in counseling, social work, or youth advocacy.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Working Conditions:

- All instruction takes place on-site at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall.
- Must pass a background check and obtain clearance to work in a secure facility.
- Adhere to facility rules and procedures, including security protocols.
- Flexible scheduling is available; sessions take place during afterschool and weekend blocks.
