A lovely family is seeking a preschool tutor for their kind, outgoing 4-year-old, who will be starting the private school kindergarten application process in September 2026, for an immediate start. Tutoring is needed once per week for 30-60 minute sessions (based on the child's attention span) on Mondays or Tuesdays between 3:30-4:30 PM or 4:00-5:00 PM. Sessions may take place either in the family's home in the Sutton Place neighborhood or at a nearby local library (candidate's choice). The child is a hands-on learner who thrives with playful, gamified learning approaches and is currently in their third year of preschool. The family is seeking a tutor who is structured, engaging, and confident in setting clear, age-appropriate boundaries.
- Start date: January 2026
- Length of Position: 6 months, possibility to extend
- Schedule: 1 session per week (30-60 minutes) on Mondays or Tuesdays
- Compensation: $50 per session
Responsibilities:
- Support the transition to more academic-focused learning
- Build academic confidence
- Assist with handwriting development
- Strengthen early problem-solving skills
- Support early reading
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of paid, professional tutoring experience
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Able to provide 2 tutoring-related references from a professional setting
- Able to successfully clear a background and social media screening
Compensation:This position pays $50 per session, and the family is looking for 30 minutes to 1 hour of tutoring per week.
