Cancer Specialists of North Florida is recruiting for a Lab Supervisor for our busy Specialty Practice. The Lab Supervisor will oversee daily laboratory operations, quality control, laboratory staff, which includes Medical Technologists, Flow Lab Techs, Laboratory Technicians, Lab Assistant, Phlebotomists and Float staff for multiple practices. The supervisor will ensure efficient operations, workflows, quality, productivity, maintain equipment, ensure safety protocols, customer service and assist the Lab Manager with staff supervision. This position requires a flexible work schedule and mandatory travel to all CSNF clinics. The supervisor will be responsible for creating and managing employee schedules and communicating with department employees and with management. The supervisor will be responsible for staff training and education for both new and existing employees. In addition, the supervisor will be responsible for ensuring CSNF is in compliance with all state and federal regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Supervises and provides direct support to Medical Technologists, Flow Lab Techs, Lab Assistant, Lab Authorization Specialist and Lab Float staff.
- Works directly with the Lab Manager with interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, write and delivery of performance evaluations while overseeing staff development.
- Creates and delivers Performance Reviews under the direct supervision of the Lab Manager.
- Ensures efficient and effective laboratory operations, including workflow, equipment maintenance, and supply inventory.
- Works directly with Lab Manager on current issues and steps in as point of contact for immediate issues
- Ensures CSNF’s Attendance Policy is adhered to. Responsible for tracking PTO request, callouts, tardies and make-up time.
- Evaluates employees’ performance and assist the Lab Manager with counseling employees with unsatisfactory work performance/or behavior.
- Coordinates and schedules monthly staff meetings
- Assists Lab Manager with all ongoing projects
- All other duties as assigned.
Full time position
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science
- Minimum of three to five (3-5) years’ experience in a laboratory
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- ASCP or AMT Certification, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician required.
- Active Florida State License for Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Technician
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
