Part-time (4.5 hours a day, Monday - Friday) | 7: 45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.


Dragon Camp Sessions:

Session 1: June 8 - June 26, 2026

  • Required orientation for new hires Friday, June 5th at 9 a.m. and classroom set-up Sunday, June 7th at 9:30 a.m.
  • There will be no camp June 19th, in observance of Juneteenth.

Session 2: July 6 - July 4, 2026

  • Required orientation and classroom set-up: Sunday, July 6th

Position Summary:

St. George’s Episcopal School is searching for enthusiastic, creative teachers to work at Dragon Camp for the summer of 2024. Camp teachers who are warm, energetic and reliable are likely to be successful team members at St. George’s. Dragon Camp is a summer day camp for children 12 months - entering 4th grade. Dragon Camp provides a safe, exciting and engaging program that focuses on the interests of the children in each classroom. Children will engage in a variety of small-group, whole-group and outside-play activities, including water play. Assistant teachers support the daily operations of the classroom and help to maintain a safe learning environment. Assistant teachers work with children ages 12 months to Pre-K3.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Display a nurturing character that supports the applicant’s ability to connect with young children, their families and coworkers.
  • Understand the social and emotional needs of preschool-age students.
  • Perform diaper changes and toilet training duties.
  • Follow directions and guidance from lead teachers.
  • Support classroom management in a positive manner.
  • Assist with morning carpool.
  • Ensure health, safety and well-being of campers at all times
  • Attend any and all training, leadership or planning session and staff meetings.
  • Respond to and initiate the solving of problems through clear and open communication.
  • Respond to feedback in a positive and open manner; be open to taking risks.
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures and guidelines as outlined at staff orientation and in the handbook.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Experience working with preschool children required
  • Dependability and punctuality. Must be able to commit to the entire session of camp.
  • Ability to sit on the floor for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs
