Infant & Toddler Teacher (Morning Program)
Location: Early Start Childcare 16901 Schoolcraft, Detroit, MI 48227
Schedule: Morning Program /Hours, e.g., 7:45-8 AM 1:30-3:30 PM]

Position Summary
The Infant & Toddler Teacher plays a key role in creating a high-quality, responsive classroom environment that supports childrens growth and helps them adjust to a structured daily routine. This teacher will lead the morning classroom with consistency, patience, and professionalism helping children rewire their habits toward stability, comfort, and learning readiness.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement a warm, nurturing, and predictable classroom routine that supports childrens social emotional security.
- Guide infants and toddlers in adjusting to a daily schedule that includes learning, rest, meals, and playtime.
- Promote early learning experiences that meet developmental milestones across physical, cognitive, and language domains.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and staff through open, professional communication.
- Ensure classroom safety, cleanliness, and organization in alignment with Michigan licensing regulations and Early Start Childcare standards.
- Collaborate with co-teachers and the director to evaluate and strengthen program quality.
- Observe and document developmental progress, sharing updates with families and management/program director.
- Model and reinforce respectful, nurturing interactions and behavior guidance practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed childcare or early education setting (preferred 2+ years).
- Strong understanding of child development and Michigans early learning standards.
- Ability to establish a consistent, calm, and engaging learning environment.
- CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain).
- Passionate about fostering childrens growth through structured routines, trust, and positive reinforcement.
