Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-time Special Education Teacher position offers a rewarding opportunity to support K-12 students in a school setting located in Stow, ME. The role is contract-based, starting as soon as possible and continuing through the end of the current school year. The position is onsite and involves managing a caseload of students across grades K-12.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create inclusive learning environments
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records and comply with state and federal education regulations
- Participate in professional development and team meetings to enhance instructional practices
Qualifications:
- Valid Maine Special Education Teacher license required
- Experience working with a diverse K-12 special education population preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and educational teams
- Ability to manage a full caseload and adapt strategies to meet individual student needs
