Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a Special Education Preschool/Early Childhood Education teacher position located in Issaquah, WA, within an elementary school setting. This full-semester contract role provides a unique chance to shape a newly created position designed to support young learners with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to preschool or early childhood students with diverse learning needs.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Utilize planning days, including Wednesdays without students, for lesson preparation, IEP meetings, and professional development.
- Engage with students Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Washington State teaching license is required.
- Preferred experience in preschool special education; candidates with Kindergarten to 2nd grade elementary special education experience will also be considered.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with families, staff, and specialists.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of students in a developing program.

- On-site position based in Issaquah, WA, serving a local elementary school.
