Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired to support K-12 students in an Augusta, GA school setting. This contract position spans the current school year and involves working closely with visually impaired students to enhance their learning experiences and promote independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of visually impaired students.
- Utilize specialized teaching strategies and assistive technologies to support student learning.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to ensure accessibility and optimal educational outes.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional methods as needed.
- Provide training and guidance to peers and staff on best practices for educating students with visual impairments.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Experience working within K-12 settings and familiarity with education standards for visually impaired learners.
- Strong munication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse educational teams.
- Ability to adapt instructional materials and activities to meet diverse student needs.
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Duration: Contract for the current school year (CSY)
