Job Summary
The Prime Time After School Program (Prime Time Sports Camp) serves elementary-aged children across school campuses within the Los Angeles Unified School District. Our dynamic curriculum combines academic support, athletics, arts, and STEM activities to foster well-rounded development.
Program Information:
All coaches are expected to effectively facilitate multiple enrichment classes, each engaging approximately 25 students, in a supportive and energetic environment. Some classes we run currently in our program:
- Art Classes: Painting, Drawing, multi-media, digital, animation, Clay.
- Theater / Improv
- Sports, Cheer, & Dance
- Creative Classes: Nature Club, Photography, Movie Production, Design Club, Studio Session.
- STEM: Lego Masters, Robotics, Coding, DIY Class, Mad Science
and many more. We create classes off our coaches interests & hobbies.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with students during program activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Plan and implement educational and recreational activities that promote learning and development.
- Manage behavior effectively, using positive reinforcement strategies to encourage good conduct.
- Assist with daily operations of the program, including setup, cleanup, and organization of materials.
- Foster an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members regarding program activities.
- Provide first aid as needed and maintain a safe environment in compliance with health guidelines.
Requirements
- 2 years experience working with students in a camp, daycare, or educational setting is preferred.
- Skills in behavior management and childcare are essential for maintaining a positive atmosphere.
- Knowledge of first aid practices is highly desirable; certification is a plus.
- A degree or coursework in early childhood education is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with children and adults alike.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Ability to stand on feet for 3 hours.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS-
AA degree in ECE or Child Development, or equivalent college course work to qualify as a Teacher per DSS
or
12 units in ECE or Child Development, or 6 completed units and must be enrolled in 2 units a semester until 12 units are completed.- TB test clearance
Hours
Monday-Friday, 2:15pm-5:30pm. Early release days begin as early as 1:15pm.
Other Requirements:
- Early Childhood Education units preferred
- Must provide College transcripts
- Must provide immunization records
- Must complete physical clearance (through employee)
- Must complete TB test clearance (through employer)
- First Aid/CPR certification (through employer)
- Live Scan Clearance required upon hire
